Universal core visual communication supports
Project core is a website that offers free, accessible, and universal communication visual supports that focus on core vocabulary (frequently used words that make up 80% of our vocabulary and can be used for a variety of communicative intents). These low-tech visuals used along with modeling and language expansion techniques are a great way to facilitate expressive and receptive language, and communication. For additional information about visual supports, or AAC devices, please refer to the AAC resource below.

AAC
AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication, which are communication modalities and/or external tools used with or instead of oral speech. To learn more about the basics of AAC, and see examples of Speech Generating Devices, please visit the links below. Please note that a Comprehensive AAC Evaluation completed by an SLP is highly recommended when deciding whether an AAC system is appropriate for your child.
