How We Can Help

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are professionals who assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders. LexiFriedSLP provides support with the following domains:  
Speech Therapy Session
Speech Sound Disorders 

Speech sound disorders include difficulties producing, perceiving, or organizing speech sounds that may make someone harder to understand. SLPs can help with the motor planning needed to create speech sounds, and provide support with differentiation and perception of speech sounds.

Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) 

Augmentative and alternative communication includes different methodologies of communication that support and/or supplement verbal speech (e.g., visual supports, Speech Generating Device). SLPs support use of AAC, program vocabulary, and access to an AAC system through insurance.

Language

Language includes the symbolic and rule based system of how way we understand (receptive) and express (expressive) our thoughts, ideas, and feelings. SLPs can facilitate both spoken and written language (e.g., auditory and reading comprehension,, vocabulary expansion,  literacy).

Fluency 

Fluency indicates the natural flow of speech. SLPs can support the physiological and emotional components associated with fluency disorders (e.g., stuttering, cluttering), helping clients improve their quality of life.

Social Communication 

Social communication involves the ways we understand others and express ourselves when initiating, engaging and terminating in social and back and forth exchanges. SLPs can support the earliest levels of social communication (e.g., joint attention, play skills), to higher level areas (e.g., perspective taking, self-advocacy).
